Grass_lawnHaving a beautiful lawn doesn’t have to be as much trouble as it seems. Last time we shared a couple quick tips on lawncare, now we’ll dive into some overlooked secrets that will make your yard the neighborhood yard that everyone is talking about.

Seed or Sod?
Sure, buying pallets of sod can be a quick and easy way to get a great looking lawn, but it’s also a very expensive choice. It does take some time to fill in as well. Instead, opt for seeding it yourself. This can be a tedious and long process but it’ll be well worth it to specify your lawn for your climate. Two options to research before seeding your lawn: hydroseeding and hand seeding.

Let Your Lawn Breathe
Sometimes essential nutrients can’t penetrate down to the roots of your lawn and can essentially just wash away in the next rainstorm. Poke holes in your lawn to improve the circulation of oxygen. Look into some tools to do this at your local home improvement store.

Water & Food
Feed your lawn with fertilizers that are recommended for your soil’s pH level and include sulfur, copper and iron. Introducing these chemicals into your lawn can help restore the pH levels after the become acidic from watering over the years.
